Personalized Travel Guide
We are here to help you create a unique travel experience in Crete, at no cost! At UNIVERSAL Car Rental, we provide a variety of recommendations for your trip in Crete, including activities and the most suitable car category based on your requirements.
After finalizing your booking, our travel planners will send you a customized travel guide. They will guide you with their local knowledge of the island and help you plan a unique holiday trip to Crete!
Premium Insurance
Your rented car is protected with premium insurance, which includes:
- F.C.D.W: Your rental is protected with Full Collision Damage Waiver (F.C.D.W). You are fully relieved of any responsibility for damage to the company’s vehicle resulting from an accident.
- Third-Party Insurance: Covers third-party bodily injuries per accident up to 1,000,000 Euros. Third-party property damages per accident (excluding rented cars) are covered up to 1,000,000 Euros.
- Theft Protection Insurance: The renter is not held responsible if the rental car is stolen. Stolen personal items belonging to the renter are not covered. Please note that Theft Protection (T.P.) does not apply in cases of renter’s negligence or culpability, such as leaving car keys in the car’s ignition.
- Fire Insurance: The renter is not responsible if the rental car is damaged by fire or a natural disaster.
- Wheels & Underside Insurance: The renter is not held responsible for any damage to the rental car’s wheels and/or underside parts resulting from an accident. Please note that Wheels & Underside Insurance does not cover damages incurred from off-road driving or negligent behavior.
- Glasses & Windows Insurance: The renter is not responsible for any damage to the rental car’s glasses and/or windows resulting from an accident or theft attempt.
24-hour Road Assistance
All our vehicles are covered by 24-hour road assistance throughout Crete, as well as a 24-hour emergency phone service!
Children Safety Seat
We ensure your child’s safety while driving in Crete by providing certified child car seats that comply with the European safety regulations ECE 44/04. We offer three different child seats to accommodate various age groups. • Group 0+/1: Ideal for children weighing between 0 – 18 kg. • Group 1/2/3: Ideal for children weighing between 9 – 36 kg. • Booster seat (Group 2-3): Ideal for children weighing between 15-36 kg.
First child seat is free of charge!
For additional child seats, there is an extra charge of 3€ per rental day.
Easy Pick-Up
Pick up your car at the location of your choice anywhere in Crete. You can choose to pick up your rental car from the airport, port, or even your hotel! Some destinations may have an additional fee.
Additional Driver
Enhance your travel experience by including extra drivers in your reservation. By sharing the driving, you can give yourself the opportunity to enjoy the journey from the passenger’s seat. You can use the service at any time during your car rental.
The first additional driver is free of charge!
For additional drivers, there is an extra charge of 3€ per rental day.
Last Minute Pick- Up
Renting a car in Crete is easy with us because the booking process is quick and simple, even for last-minute bookings. We offer last-minute car rental deals, subject to availability. You can book your car even after 12 p.m. today!
Please note that for last-minute reservations, you will receive a confirmation voucher if the requested vehicle is available. You will not be charged if the requested vehicle is not available.
Pick up a full tank of fuel / Return empty
You can pick up a full tank of fuel and return it empty. Charges for fuel are payable when you book your vehicle. Please note that there will be no refund for the remaining fuel when the vehicle is returned.
Member card
Become a member of UNIVERSAL car Rental and enjoy special benefits!
As soon as you rent a vehicle from Universal Car Rental, you automatically become a member of our family! Within your first rental, you will receive from our office a non-expiring discount member card that you can use for your future rentals in Crete. The card is transferable, so all your friends and relatives can benefit from the discounted rates. The percentage of the discount listed on the card will be taken out of the official rates that will apply at the time of the rental. The card cannot be used in combination with any other offer that will apply at the time.
GPS Navigator
Having a GPS system can be extremely helpful while driving in Crete, especially if you are not familiar with the island.
Enhance your navigation experience by adding a GPS device in your car rental for an additional charge of 8€ per day.
Personal Accident Insurance
You can add Personal Accident Insurance to your booking as an optional extra. Personal Accident Insurance (P.A.I.) is a type of life insurance that provides coverage for the driver in case of injuries up to a specified limit.
For P.A.I. there is an extra charge of 3€ per rental day.
